AI Overviews and What They Mean
AI Overviews are changing how people search, how websites get traffic, and how brands are seen on Google.
- AI Overviews now reach 1.5 billion users each month. (Google)

Platform Differences and AI Assistant Preferences
Different AI tools prefer different content sources.
- Wikipedia is the top source for all three AI tools. ChatGPT uses it most (16.3%), then Perplexity (12.5%), then AI Overviews (8.4%). (Ahrefs)
- YouTube is used a lot in Perplexity (16.1%) and AI Overviews (9.5%), but not as much in ChatGPT. (Ahrefs)
